Blackthorn House

IMAGINE WHAT HAPPENS when Wednesday Addams grows up and finds the perfectly dreary Victorian next door. You know she’d choose the most delightfully dilapidated dwelling on the street.

Every creaking floorboard and shadowy corner of this miniature mansion will tell a story of gothic grandeur gone gloriously wrong. Just the way she’d like it.

We’ve been breathing dark life into this tiny house. Think mysterious specimens in jars, plenty of space dedicated to her beloved plants, and perhaps even a cozy corner for Thing to rest his hand.

Welcome to the neighborhood, little house of horrors.

The Kitchen

WELCOME TO THE KITCHEN, where Wednesday would undoubtedly spend her mornings perfecting her... culinary experiments.

Every inch of this miniature kitchen tells a story, starting with our custom-designed wallpaper to capture the right amount of delightfully dreary. The contrast of stark white cabinetry against the deep black of the room creates that perfect balance of elegant and eerie. The waterfall island, complete with its Belfast sink, stands ready for whatever concoctions might need swift disposal.

And yes, the cake on the counter is giving suspicious vibes. We’re not saying it’s poisoned, but we’re not saying it isn’t. The breakfast nook, tucked away in its shadowy corner, offers the perfect spot for morning coffee and plotting.

Naturally, we couldn’t resist adding too many white pumpkins (Wednesday does have a flair for the dramatic), and the overflow of mysterious tomes adds that perfect touch of organized chaos.

Who else is ready to brew some trouble?

The Library

“While most people merely dabble in darkness, I bind it in leather and mark my place with a ribbon.”

WE’VE HANDCRAFTED hundreds of tiny tomes (because Wednesday would never trust a house without an excessive number of books). While many have mysteriously migrated throughout the house, the main level library holds the most...interesting volumes.

Each spine tells its own tale, though we recommend reading them at your own risk.

The custom gothic fireplace stands guard over this sanctuary of shadows, its every detail catching the light just so. And yes, those are bird cages you spot in the reading nook—though we can neither confirm nor deny whether they’re meant for actual birds.

Every proper gothic heroine needs a place to plot and plan. After all, what’s a dark academia aesthetic without the academia?

The Bathroom

STEP INTO THE DELIGHTFULLY dreary bathroom where even the morning routine has a gothic twist.

The star of this shadowy sanctuary? A clawfoot tub, perfect for late-night contemplation of life’s darker mysteries. And because Wednesday would never waste a moment not reading, we’ve added a fully-stocked bookcase of “light” reading material. (Though we suspect her definition of light reading might differ from most.)

Some might call it excessive to keep a library in the bathroom. We call it necessary atmosphere. After all, what’s a good soak without a leather-bound tome?

Who else arranges their bathroom reading by degree of darkness?

The Bedroom

WELCOME TO THE PRIVATE sanctum of Blackthorn House where Wednesday undoubtedly spends her nights contemplating the void (and occasionally writing about it).

The window seat is her gateway to the cosmos, complete with telescopes and a carefully curated collection of astronomical texts. Because while some study the stars for their beauty, she’s more interested in their connection to the darker mysteries of the universe.

And yes, that’s a knife on the bedside table, right next to the alarm clock. One never knows when they might need to carve...pumpkins. Speaking of which, the antique doll buggy is overflowing with them—all white, naturally.

Every corner tells a story: the black dollhouse glows with an inexplicable light, the writing desk stands ready with its vintage sewing machine and dress form (for crafting appropriately macabre attire), and even the doll’s cradle has been repurposed as (what else?) additional book storage.

The inherited taxidermy adds that perfect touch of familial gothic charm, while custom wainscoting and moody floral wallpaper frame it all in properly somber style.

After all, what’s a bedroom without a few...personal touches?

The Writing Turret

AT THE PINNACLE of Blackthorn House lies the ultimate lair for any gothic novelist—the attic writing turret.

Shrouded in shadows and secluded from the rest of the house, this is where Wednesday retreats to indulge her most morbid muses.

And the writing turret is beating heart of the house—where modern luxury meets dark academia dreams. That antique writing desk plays host to both sleek tech and a vintage typewriter (because we believe in honoring both the old ways and the new). The snake rug adds just the right touch of edge while inherited portraits remind us that maximalist gallery walls run in the family.

The Attic Living Room

MOVING INTO THE living room, birch wallpaper and exposed beams create the perfect backdrop for our gargoyle and statuary guardians. The cabinet of curiosities houses everything a modern witch might need—from chemistry sets to ancient tomes.

Black vintage furniture layered on mixed animal prints? We call that pattern-play perfection. And yes, that golden penguin is absolutely essential to the vibe.

The Exterior

THE EXTERIOR IS getting final touches, because even Wednesday knows the importance of curb appeal (especially the kind that makes neighbors nervous).

A black cello stands sentinel on the second-floor balcony outside her bedroom window—ready for those midnight sonatas that keep the neighborhood delightfully on edge. The gargoyles perch watchfully, while a particularly smug raven has made himself at home in the black rose door wreath.

We’ve cultivated a selection of plants that Wednesday would approve of—the kind that thrive in shadows and probably shouldn’t be touched without gloves. Because what’s a gothic residence without a dash of botanical danger?

Every exterior detail has been chosen to say “hauntingly inhabited” rather than merely “haunted.” Though we’ll let you decide if there’s really a difference.

All Our Thanks

And finally, a very special thanks to our hand model—Jelinda for her time, talent and care on this entire shoot. Can you even believe those nails?! They were giving exactly the gothic glam energy this shoot needed! Plus, she’s fun to work with.
